Excel 2010 - cursor movement error

I just upgraded to Office 2010, and occasionally I get the following error: if I click on a cell, the cursor selects all the cells in between the original cursor location and the new cursor location, as if I have Shift held down. I've tried fidling with Scroll Lock but that doesn't have any impact and I have had to reboot the PC, not just the program. It's not a huge problem as it crops up about twice a month, and I can do a save before rebooting, but I am curious.

Google the problem.

It seems to be somewhat common and I don't recall if anyone has found a solution.
