Solved Excel 2003 spreadsheet formatting problem

February 28, 2015 at 07:59:37
Specs: Windows XP
I AM TRYING TO AUTO SUM AS FOLLOWS: =SUM(C2:C5). WHEN I POPULATE CELLS C2 THRU C5 INDIVIDUALLY, CELL C6 DOES NOT RECOGNIZE THE INPUT AND DOES NOT CALCULATE AND/OR SHOW THE "ROLLING TOTAL" OR "FINAL TOTAL" IN C6.

WHAT IS THE PROBLEM AND WHAT CAN I DO TO OBTAIN THE RESULT I NEED?

If C6 contains =SUM(C2:C5) then it should work. Check for typo's, extra or missing characters and so forth. What, if anything, appears in C6 when you populate the cells C2 to C5?

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Please do not post in all upper case. Upper case is the internet equivalent of yelling and no one likes to be yelled at.

Yes, thank you for helping me find how to change from manual to automatic calculation. I was able to complete and confirm the accuracy of the final product just this morning. Again thank all of you who responded...it was most helpful.
