Specs: Windows 10
Using Eudora 7.0. Can not access mail. Get notification that one certificate in server cert chain I
has expired. Destination host does not match host name in certificate. By ignoring this error because certificate is trusted the connection with the server has been lost. cause (215) Is there possible fix for this?

✔ Best Answer
This is not unusual behavior being that Eudora is an older email client that is no longer updated.

I would recommend changing to another client, but you can try the steps here to see if that remedies the problem:

That eliminated the certificate error. Now if I check mail I get "error reading from network. Cause: connection aborted due to timeout or other failure (10053)" When I try to send, I get :error reading from network. Cause: connection closed by foreign host.(0) If no solution to this, what e-mail program would you suggest for an old, not too computer savy guy?

There's one more (if Thunderbird doesn't work out for you) that's actually been around as long (maybe longer) than Eudora. Pegasus. I'd forgotten about it since it's been a long time since I used it (but it worked nicely when I did).

Since it's 32-bit (and you don't mention which version of Windows 10 you have) it may or may not work for you:

Thank you. I think Thunderbird will be ok but it's good to have another option. I appreciate the help from people who know their way around computers far better than I do.

Don't feel bad. We were all there at one point.
