This question was asked SEVERAL years ago, but now, after not finding a fix I am asking it again.

I have Microsoft XP Standard Edition for Students and Teachers. (Office). I've successfully installed it on my Win 7 laptop and an Acer slimline PC with NO issues.

I recently bought a Netbook with Win 8 as a way to learn about Win 8. I attempted to install the Office software and it appears to start installing and then up pops this error message and it closes down.

I Googled the error message and found a couple of ideas but nothing works. Since the Net book doesn't have a CD drive I copied the files to a flash drive as I've done with other programs with success.

But surely there is a way to install this program successfully. Is there something I'm missing or something I can try to install this program.

Sadly, yes. This is the first one I found. I printed the instructions off and tried them one by one. It didn't solve my problem.

Just can understand why this is an issue. The Netbook has enough storage and 4GB of memory.

Thanks for the help. Just hoping someone has another solution.
