Solved Does a cell contain specific text?

Specs: Windows XP
I know that I know how to do this, but I fear that last night's excesses are coming back to bite me.

Basically, I have a sheet containing 600 rows of data. I want a simple Yes/No to be displayed in Column B when the text string in Column A includes the word 'Trust'.

eg Cell A205 says 'Liverpool NHS Trust', or 'The Trust Company'. Column B will then say 'YES'.

Can someone help me please?

Any assistance much appreciated!

Dan

Something like:

=IF(ISERROR(FIND("Trust",A1,1)),"No","Yes")

should work.

Glad I could help.

Just be aware that =FIND() is case sensitive,
so Trust and trust are not the same.

If you need to deal with looking for strings that vary - "Trust", "trust" ,"TRUST", "TrUsT" - try:

=IF(ISERROR(FIND(UPPER("Trust"),UPPER(A1),1)),"No","Yes")

Actually I was thinking more along the lines of:

=IF(ISERROR(FIND(LOWER("Trust"),LOWER(A1),1)),"No","Yes")

:-)
