With a list of salaries in A1:A5, put this in B1 and drag it down...

=IF(A1=MAX($A$1:$A$5),"Highest","")

This will place "Highest" next to the cell with the Highest value in A1:A5.

If there is a tie, you'll get "Highest" next to all tied values.

Assuming your amounts are in the cells A1 thru A5
In B1 enter the formula

=IF(A1=MAX($A$1:$A$5),"Higest","")

Drag the formula down
