Solved Deleted text has changed to red with red line through it.

November 24, 2012 at 03:49:12
Specs: Windows XP
Deleted text in black font in a specific Word document has not disappeared but the font (of the 'deleted' part) has changed to red with red lines struck through the text. A message also pops up saying that the text was deleted at the relevant time. Am unable to over-type. Any ideas anyone?

You may have inadvertently turned on the "Track changes" feature. To turn it off:

Open Word
Click the "Review" tab
Click the "Track changes" icon so it appears blue (same colour as ribbon) instead of highlighted in amber.

Hi Phil22

Thanks for your prompt reply. Yes, I think you are right about the Track Changes feature. Unfortunately I can't find the Review tab/button on my version of Word ( the one included in Microsoft Office 2000SR-1 Professional )! I don't know if that makes any difference?

Thanks again
