I have edited your post to alter your email address.

We do not want to become known as a place where email addresses can be harvested. Once the bad guys start hanging around, it's really hard to get rid of them.

If you own a valid license, I suggest that you contact MS directly and obtain a disk/download from them.

How about replacing MS Office with one of the compatible freebies such as LibreOffice, OpenOffice or Kingsoft WPS Office?

Have you tried cleaning the disk?
If it is not damaged to severely, a good cleaning may help.
Look here for some suggestions:

Yes, I have tried cleaning, but there is gunk stuck on the disc, and unable to remove without really making damage,, more easy to downloads or if someone out there has a copy..wishful thinking.
Sure I can purchase it from Amazon for under 12 dollars but the shipping is 16
and let's not forget thats is in US funds

Oddly although M$ provide a download source for Office 2007 and upwards... There doesn't appear to be one for earlier versions.

If you have chum who has a copy of XP Office and it's the same version as yours, you can legally copy that disk and use it to install - using "your" key. You have to be sure that the version you have is the sam as your chum's.

i.e.If you have an OEM DVD then your key is OEM and it will only work with an OEM disk; similarly re' Retail versions. You cannot use an OEM key with retail and visa-versa.

Also there likely cheap copies (M$ legit disks) around at clearance houses, eBay and computer fairs.

I have a purchased copy which I purchased for 399.00$ back in the day, it's just now the CD is defective. But the KEY is very much alive and kicking.
I have asked for help here only to have some guy with no life try and slap my hand for asking. Seems he hangs on to everything ever typed here, ehh cheap thrills I guess.

But thanks for your suggestion, Everyone in my circle uses a MAC so no help.

I can buy another one from Amazon for like 12 bucks and 16 bucks shipping in US Dollars, seems thats what I'll end up doing. I onoy need something to bang out a few letters every-now-and-then. Maybe print an envelope like once a month, so I don't need a 100 plus program for that.

Is the gunk on the top?

mmm... The whole issue of download is contentious here and other similar forums. Sadly there are hack sites (torrent etc.) where one can find most stuff. Invariably a risky place to go...

What is frowned on here (at least) is posting valid "keys"; and links to hacking/illegal download sites. As I say in earlier response, M$ provide legal download access but only for Office 2007 and forwards; and also some versions of Windows OS too.

Where are you located?

And also seriously consider investigating Office Libre at least. It's M$-Office compatible, it's free, and it works.
