Corrupted file ms project. How to restore?

Specs: Windows 7, AMD A8-7410 APU 2.2 GHz/ 8 Gb
I have a rather big plan of the project I'm working in 2013 within a few months. about a week ago, everything was fine. Now, when I tried to open .mpp from the file Manager or the "recently opened files", project (program) opens, but to open your .mpp. When I try to just open the program and then manually navigating to the folder where my .mpp is located and discover it's been that way, this project actually stops responding.

I can open a new empty project, everything works fine, so I think my file was corrupted. I've read a few things that could potentially help, as the restoration project, restoring previous versions and delete all the links / predecessors from the plan, but they don't help. Who knows the answer what it is...
Thanks in advance!!

Well keeping backups of your work would have avoided this problem, very obvious really.

Try this software:

Hopefully the link posted by phill22 is able to fix your problem. I definitely agree with him that you should have created at least one back up of your project, maybe even several. Lesson learned?
