how do I copy a date down over several rows without it increasing the day

Copy the cell in which the date appears, for example A1

Then highlight the rows you want the date to be pasted in, for example A2 - A10

Then paste the date in. Ctrl and v

...or with a date in A1, use =A1 in A2 and drag it down.

If you need the dates "hard coded", select the cells with the formulas, then use:

Ctrl-c to Copy
Edit...Paste Special...Values

This may be the long way for this particular case, but using formulas to fill cells then using PasteSpecial...Values is a powerful technique for filling cells with the values you need.

Let Excel do the work for you and then remove the formulas and lock in the values.
