copy and paste between pages of MS word processor

Specs: Windows Vista
I am trying to write a book in ms word processor. I can highlight the first screen but when I scroll to the second screen, the first screen goes back to normal and the whole page scrolls fast to the end. cant stop it where I want it.

Put the cursor at the beginning of the section you want to highlght, then scroll down the document to the point where you want the highlight to end - press & hold the shift key, then click the cursor at the end point - everything between will be highlighted ready for copying.

In addition to the above, using the control key (Ctrl) can allow you to highlight individual sections with space between. Just hold down the control key while making your selections. When all done, place the cursor anywhere in the highlighted area and right click. Choose cut, then move the cursor where you wish to insert, and right click again, choosing paste.
