Specs: Windows 8

Sorry i am really a noob in excel , now i am in situation in my work and must achieve spread sheets with many complicated formulas that i never needed to use before , i keep searching in google but that does not help 100%

i hope i will be able to easily explain my need , these will be 2 cases

if i run a warehouse and there is a cargo i need to calculate its storage period in this warehouse

Cell B7 : cargo stored on 01/08/2017
Cell B8 : cargo released on 05/08/2017

In Cell B15 : it reads exactly contents of B7

in Cell C15 , i want to do the following :

1- if B8 date >= 1st of October 2017 , then insert 30 September 2017
2- if B8< 1st of October 2017 , then insert contents of B8

how to do that ?

Also another case
---------------------------

Cell B7 : cargo stored on 01/08/2017
Cell B8 : cargo released on 05/08/2017

I want to apply following three conditions in Cell A15 :

1- if B7>= 1st October 2017 , insert "-"
2- if B7< 1st October 2017 , insert "30/09/2017"
3- if B8<1st October 2017, insert (B8)

how to do that ?

sorry for disturbance and thanks for all appreciated assistance .

Before we offer any solutions, let's make sure we have your requirements correct.

First, you told us that B15=B7, but then you never mentioned B15 again. Why did you tell us that B15=B7?

Second, for cell A15, you are basing the result on the contents of 2 different cells: B7 and B8. What happens if both B7 and B8 are < 1st October 2017? If that is a possibility, then your requirements can not be met.

Please clarify.

re: "regarding A15 , this is my mistake , mean cell C15"

My question was not about which cell the result should be placed in, my question was about the requirements you posted.

You said:

2- if B7< 1st October 2017 , insert "30/09/2017"
3- if B8< 1st October 2017, insert (B8)

My question is this:

What happens if both B7 and B8 are < 1st October 2017? Based on those 2 requirements, the result of the formula would need to both 30/09/2017 and B8. That can't happen.

If it's possible that both B7 and B8 could be < 1st October 2017, then you need to tell what you want the result to be in that case. If that will never happen, then tell us that.
