Combining IF, TEXT, AND EDATE FORMULA in EXCEL 2007

January 10, 2012 at 08:21:15
Specs: Windows XP
I am trying to write a formula where if there is a "Y" in a certain cell, then my formula returns a certain EDATE formula but if the cell is blank then I get a different EDATE formula. Can someone please help: Here are my parameters:

Cell E39 = base date
Cell p39 = text cell ("Y" or blank)

Formula: =IF(P39="Y",(EDATE(E39,9)+15), (EDATE(E39,7)))

I get the result for (EDATE(E39,9)+15 no matter what is in P39.

Works for me.

Using todays date 01/10/2012

With the Yin P39 I get: 10/25/2012
With Out Y in P39 I get: 08/10/2012
