Choose from multiple cells linked into 1 cell

Specs: Windows XP
Hi,
I am trying to create a spreadsheet (Excel 2007) where there are a list of GP practices and which ever one is selected that is shown in a specific individual cell. For instance below is a list of surgeries with Rothbury chosen and highlighted on the right. If Bongate is chosen the Rothbury on the right would change to Bongate in the same cell.

Before...
Rothbury Surgery
Lintonville Medical Group Rothbury Surgey
Bedlingtonshire Medical Group
Bondgate Surgery

After...
Rothbury Surgery
Lintonville Medical Group Bondgate Surgey
Bedlingtonshire Medical Group
Bondgate Surgery

Any advice gratefully received.
Brian

Can't you just CONCATENATE the data in the cells:

Column A
1) Rothbury Surgery
2) Lintonville Medical Group & A4
3) Bedlingtonshire Medical Group
4) Bondgate Surgery

re: For instance below is a list of surgeries with Rothbury chosen and highlighted on the right.

Since nothing is highlighted, I can't tell what is chosen (selected?).

Therefore I have no idea how you went from:

Lintonville Medical Group Rothbury Surgey

to

Lintonville Medical Group Bondgate Surgey

Perhaps if you used the bolding feature we could tell what was highlighted.

Click the B above the response box and place the text you want to highlight between the and the to make it bold.

Hi,
Thanks for your replies. It is complex to explain in text the outcome I am trying to achieve. But basically from a list of GP practices in one column from whichever cell you click into I require the contents of that cell to be put into one specific cell in the next colunn.
So the example below there are 4 practices in a column. Whatever cell you click into the practice name will be displayed in the next column but in the same cell. So in the first example below if you click Rothbury it appears in the next column and if you click Bongate it will appear in the same cell.
Hope this clarifies and thanks for your time in responding.
B

Before...
Rothbury Surgery
Lintonville Medical Group Rothbury Surgey
Bedlingtonshire Medical Group
Bondgate Surgery

After...
Rothbury Surgery
Lintonville Medical Group Bondgate Surgey
Bedlingtonshire Medical Group
Bondgate Surgery

PS Can't turn the text to bold!!!!

Why not? I just bolded, italicized and strikethrough'd your entire post just by clicking the buttons above the Post Reply box:

You are not making sense.

How can something be displayed "in the next column but in the same cell"?

Hi again,
Apologies for confusing. Hopefully the ability to make things bold may help!!!! The bold text below will be in a separate column but will be the same cell. So whatever cell you click on in the list of four GP practices this will appear in the next column but the same cell each time i.e. B2

Before...
Rothbury Surgery
Lintonville Medical Group Rothbury Surgey
Bedlingtonshire Medical Group
Bondgate Surgery

After...
Rothbury Surgery
Lintonville Medical Group Bondgate Surgey
Bedlingtonshire Medical Group
Bondgate Surgery

Right click the sheet tab
Choose View Code
Paste this in:

Private Sub Worksheet_SelectionChange(ByVal Target As Range)
Set isect = Application.Intersect(Target, Range("$A$1:$A$4"))
'If selected cell is within A1:A4, place value in B2
If Not isect Is Nothing Then
 [B2] = Target
 End If
End Sub

Select a cell
