A search may not find it, even by displaying hidden files ( go into Control Panel/Folder options/view/ & select 'show hidden folders & files') but the file you want is located in c:/users/<yourname>/Appdata/Roaming/Microsoft/Templates. Rename it from normal.dotm to normal.old (you can delete it but I always err on the side of safety), then start Word and it should open with a blank document.

One doesn't login to Word. The program is normally executed/run. Can you be more specific?

Search your computer for normal.dot and normal.dotm. Remove the ones that are contained within your profile.
