Can I calculate the date for last thursday

Microsoft Excel 2003 (full product)

Specs: Windows XP
I would like to have a cell in a worksheet which automatically shows the date in DD/MM/YYYY format for the most recent Thursday.

Try this:

=$A1-WEEKDAY($A1-5)

Thanks Mike,

In my sheet it gave me last Thursday's date (probably due to my settings) but certainly showed me a neat way to manipulate the WEEKDAY function.

Sorry Mike,

Suffering from Flu so probably drifted into another timeframe.

Works fine when I insert =Today() into $A1.
