Blacked out attached file name

April 8, 2012 at 00:02:04
Specs: Windows 7, 3 GHZ/ 2.5G
I have Office 2010 and windows 7 as operating system.
The issue is that, when i attach any file in outlook message, and the message format is "Rich Text" by default, when i print this message the name of the attached file is blacked out, it shows a black block instead of the file name, though it appears normal in the print preview.

And this issue happens only after i installed office 2010

Any clue???

We saw this type of thing at work with some logos and pictures in Office 2003 and XP.

Turned out to be our print drivers.

Just a thought.

Your response is confusing.

Your OP says the problem is happening with Windows 7 yet you responded by saying that you have a working system that is running XP.

That could still point to a print driver issue since you are using 2 different operating system. Of course since there are 2 different operating systems involved, it could a number of things, but I'd still take a look at the print drivers first.

We found that even with systems running identical OS's and Office versions, there were different print drivers installed - some systems had drivers specific to the printer model while others had a 'generic' driver from the same manufacturer.

One driver worked fine, the other caused the black-box problems that you described.
