Wireless to Wireless Ping

August 5, 2011 at 18:39:24
Specs: Windows XP, 3Gs
I have a wireless network set up. I have a series of wireless and wired machines all have internet access. Any wired to wireless device can ping each other (and vise-versa). Any wireless to wireless device cannot ping each other. The router, wireless router, and managed switch can all ping every machine.

Firewall is not issue as wired can ping wireless.
Router is running pfSense.
Switch is an Hp pro curve.
Wireless is an D-link DIR-655.

Any Ideas?

The wireless router probably has wireless client isolation (or whatever they choose to call it) going. It's designed to block wireless to wireless communication.

This sounds correct, but I after looking for the setting myself, I emailed the manufacturer and they said that the device did not have that feature. Not sure how accurate that is though...
