I travel extensively, and have set up my HP
4700 photosmart wireless printer to print at
home over my home network. Is there a way
for me to send a print job to the printer over the
internet from across the country for my wife to
receive? I'm thinking that the services of
something like GoTo My PC.com may do it,
but of course I'm looking for a way to do it on
my own, without parting with any of my
money.
I use an AT&T dsl wireless network at home.

Does a fax cost too much? Email the document to her. She can print it.

I'm not looking to fax, that would be too easy, I want my wife or
kids to go to the printer and pick up a copy of whatever I want
printed for them,

You would put in a vpn capable router
You would load the vpn client on your laptop
You would connect remotely to your network via the vpn

Then you could print.

Anything less would unsecure your network except email and fax

I have a MacBook, which has bluetooth. I also bought a printer, but the printer did not come with any cables to hook it up to my computer. I tried to buy a USB bluetooth adapter for my computer only to find that it was not compatible with my printer.
