Wireless lan driver not active

Specs: ubuntu linux 9.10, Intel Core 2 Duo
I recently installed ubuntu linux 9.10 in my HP Compaq nx7300 laptop. Intel Core 2duo Processor, 1 GB RAM. Every thing working good, except Wireless lan. I configured my network connection. but my wireless LAN is shown disabled only. I tried to ON the physical Wireless LAN switch present in my laptop. but it is not getting ON.

I'm very new to Linux

Can anybody help me in this reagrd

You need to try to find compatible drivers for the wireless interface. You only have three options that I can see, the HP site, the wireless NIC manufacturer, or if you're lucky, the Ubuntu site.

I would start on the Ubuntu site. Search for drivers for your NIC. You can also try emailing their support or looking through their forums.

but i can't find drivers in these 3 locations
any other way?
