Specs: Windows XP
I have a network connection with static ip address at my place extended through LAN extender. I want to use a wireless router to access the connection on my laptop/pc.
I have Beetel 450 TC1 ADSL modem and router. Even after giving the ip , I am not able to ping my server, though the wireless network is detected by the laptop/PC. I use iball wirelss dongle for the PC.

Can u please guide me with the connection and settings pls

you should connect your wireless device to network with ethernet port , and maybe it is required the cross cable .
then dont change you ip in your pc just assign your ip add to the wireless adapter in your pc .
If you can connect to the wireless connection it will work . If you can not connect to the wireless you should config the wireless modem at first

what are you referring to when you say lan extender? A cable? Or are you doing a wireless extension of the wifi network? If so what is the make/model of the extender?

If you take your laptop with the iball wireless dongle to the routers location bypassing the extender do you get a wifi connection and internet?
