Router can't access LAN. I have a wireless Cisco 2500 router that has a wired uplink to the local LAN. Cisco website says that they no longer sell this model and do not support it. When a computer is wired to the router, the computer can access the internet and our LAN, but when we connect thru the router wirelessly, we can access the internet, but not our LAN. I guess the router just needs to be a wireless access point. Can anyone guide me as to where and what I need to change in the router's setup or wireless router setup in order to change it to an access point so that we can access our LAN wireless thru the router/access point? thanks,

I have no experience with that particular piece of equipment so can't say for sure.....but I think you would do well to connect to the management interface and spend some time slowly going through all the wireless settings.

To me this sounds a lot like a "guest" access WLAN. So look for a setting like that and if "guest" is enabled, disable it and see if that doesn't fix the LAN issue.

In some routers there is a check box that when checked separates the lan and wireless networks.

Review the routers configuration or set back to factory and start fresh.

I disabled Guest account and the interface is LAN & Wireless, but still can't access LAN.

Well, in that case I think you might want to take wanderer's advice and reset the unit back to factory defaults and reconfigure it.
