Specs: Windows 7
I am in need of some advice. I have a desktop computer with window 7 (32 bit) installed that I will be using to monitor security camera outside my home. I need to buy a wireless card for this computer. I have a wg311v3 wireless card and tried to install it but no luck (down loaded new up dates from netgear.... wg311v3_v5.0.0.3_setup),this card worked running in window vista. Now I guess I buy new wireless card. Does anyone have any advice on which one to buy,I have little money so I need one that is cheep but will work for me. I have a linksys wireless-G broadband router and do I need to replace my router. I sure would like any advice any one can give me. Thank you for your time.

You shouldn't need to buy a new wireless card, Windows Vista and Windows 7 are pretty similar as OSs, this is not like the jump from XP to Vista.

I would check Device Manager for driver issues. It may be as simple as downloading the Windows 7 driver over the Vista driver. Lots of times you can use a Vista driver in 7, or vice versa, but not always. In your case it doesn't sound like you can.

If you bought this from Netgear, it would be worth it getting in touch with them to see what they say about your problem.

In your situation if you can fix the problem without buying a new router at all, that would be ideal. Good luck.
