Wired router to a wireless router

Specs: Win7 Ultimate 64-bit, i7 / 8.00 GB
I've been finding a lot on how to hook up a wireless router to a wired router but not the vise versa. I have a wireless router on one side of the house and have a cat6 cable from that router to the opposite side of the house; which is currently connected to my computer. I recently purchased an XBOX that I want to get on the internet. The wifi signal is weak and I really don't want to string another wire through the attic again. So, I just want to setup a wired router so both machines can work off of the one cable. What is the best way of doing this?

Simply connect both routers with a LAN cable from LAN port to LAN port, deaktivate DHCP service in the wired router, so that only the wireless router runs DHCP service.

Connect your computer and XBOX to the wired routers LAN ports.

Should work.

Connect your computer to the wired router via LAN cable.
Make sure, that the wired router is not connected to the wireless router at this time.
Open your favorite internet browser and type in the ip address of your wired router, to get the Web Configuration platform of your router.
A howto should be found in the manual of your wired router.
