wifi connects, no packets recieved

Specs: Windows XP
Hey fellas,

I am using Broadcom 802.11b/g WLAN on a Compaq Presario V5000

I am able to connect to any unsecured network with a strong signal, packets are sent but not recieved.

I've tried the following:
-Repair Connection
-Reboot
-Update Drivers
-Update BIOS (reccommended by Broadcom tech support)

I am out of ideas, and I'm thinking it might be the card itself. Is there anything else I can do to figure out exactly why this is happening?

Is the repair completing successfully? If not try entering ipconfig /all in the cmd prompt to make sure you're getting IP, subnet mask, gateway, and DNS addresses. Hope this helps.

It has worked. I turned off the firewalls, still no difference. I am stumped. When I repair the connection, it finishes normally.

My wireless network named 'Tortuga'....

Not sure what I am supposed to be looking for, but I hope this helps....
