Why i can't to conect to my wireless anymore?

March 21, 2011 at 14:22:17
Specs: Windows Vista, 4ghz
i was reading my emails, while suddenly my internet got disconnected, yes it happens, but this time i could not reconnect. The weird thing is I can't connect to my wireless only, now i'm using my neighbors unsecured wifi. Also on my other laptop everything works fine. What could it be?
Its been several hours now that i'm trying, yes, i reconnected everything, restarted, even restored my system to 3 days back, and yes, my wireless switch is on, since i'm steeling my neigbors' service.
When i try to chose my wifi, it asks for password, and it can't recognize. Password is the same, and works on other laptop.
Please, help.

Try to unplug the power from the router, wait 20 seconds, plug power back on and try to connect again.

Of course i disconnected before i posted.
I even updated Intel wireless driver.
It does not recognize the password for my wireless, but only one laptop. My laptop is Sony VAIO if it makes any difference.
Yes, i looked on sony support too, nothing.
Please, anybody has any ideas?

I suggest to connect to the router by wire, go to the routers web configuration interface and check, whether all settings in the router are correct.
Maybe the router has lost the configuration and therefore, you are unable to connect to it.

Yep, log on to wireless router configuration page and make sure everything is configured correctly. I just afraid the configuration of router was reverted to default settings, sometimes it happens and you need to reconfigure it. This is wireless router configuration example, you can have a look if you want.

Hope this helps.

I got sorted out. As i said before, I unplugged everything and it didn't make any difference, but then I found someone was saying, that some routers has a battery backup and it doesn't really disconnect until reset button pushed. So that's what worked for me.
Thank you very much for creating those forums where we all can find solutions!
