Specs: macOS Sierra, 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5 / 8 GB
I bought a MacBook pro 13 inch retina (early 2015) around 4 months ago and its wifi started to slow down tremendously when it's charging. The wifi also slows down on my iPhone and iPad. This never happened before until yesterday.

When I'm playing LoL, the ping stays at a normal 35ms-50ms when its not charging. But when it is charging, it goes up to over 2k ms.

I tried restarting my MacBook several times but it doesn't solve the problem. Everything is also up-to-date.

Please help.

If WiF slows down on other devices too, it seems illogical to me to blame your Macbook or it's charger.

I'd be more inclined to blame your router/modem equipment.

Try a new wireless router/modem (don't forget the range-extender too if you are using one).

Try to use the 5Ghz WiFi band wherever possible if your equipment is dual-band.

My modem's fine and I bought a new one not too long ago because of some problems.
Neither band really fixes anything.
And if the problem isnt being caused because of my macbook charging then there's no other reason that i can think of. I tested it a couple of times, plugging it and unplugging.

You say your ping goes up.....what are you pinging exactly?

It matters not how straight the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate;
I am the captain of my soul.

Have you disconnected your router from domestic power for about half a minute? This can sometimes help Wifi issues (on one or more devices).

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Check your settings on Mac-book. do you have ICLOUD configured? DO have somewhere configured to synchronize your devices with ICLOUD meaning Pictures, documents etc are uploaded and downloaded to your apple devices!

If you have set to do this when charging that could be the reason for slowing down your internet speed.

Upgrades on MAC devices can be large files like 2-3 GB. This usually starts when devices are in charging mode.
