What exactly do you mean by "Managing" your LAN ?
How many client systems and what kind of devices are connected to your network?
What operating systems are they running?
What model router do you have and are there both wired & wireless devices?
For the most part, a home network requires no special management software.

You set it up using the inbuilt networking functions of the systems and devices and it works.

I agree with Richard. Unless you have a complex set-up the facilities provides by Windows and your router are more than adequate.

Its not a network engagement application you need, it is knowledge on how to set up a secure witless connection. The routers manual will tell you how to do that under wireless configuration.

What would help is install Windows XP SP3. There were a lot of security holes filled with SP3.

By the way, there is no such thing as a DSL network. DSL ends at the Modem at and from then on it is Ethernet. DSL is just a single wire from you you to your telephone service provider.

DSL = Digital Subscriber LIne. A type of telephone line for transmuting both voice and data down the same cable.
