VNC over VPN

Specs: Windows XP Pro, 2GB

I am looking for a step by step or setup guide to accomplish the following.

I am based in the UK, I have 2 remote members of staff working out in Houston Texas. Then connect to the server here using the XP Pro built in VPN connection. However if they run into trouble I would like to be able to assist them by remote control with RealVNC.

So, if they connect to the VPN, how do I then connect to them, you cannot use a local IP address because they are not local obviously. I have never done it before so I require as much help as can be offered. I tried reading through the VNC documentation but they are not very clear. Thank you in advance.

If I may offer a suggestion. Our PC guys here where I work used to use VNC but have now switched to something different.

They're now using a program called Team Viewer

As I understand it, you connect through a Team Viewer server to the remote client. Unlike most other remote connectivity programs, this one actually allows you to copy files back and forth without using anything else (like ftp) to do it.

Also, you can connect regardless of whether or not you have firewalls in the way and doesn't require VPN's or anything else.

Have a look, it may be what you need/want.
