usb drives to rj45

Specs: Windows Vista, athlon/8GB
I have a spare usb HDD and wish to connect to an existing network switch (rj45 connections) if it works on a gigabyte network all the better

You cannot connect a USB device to an RJ45 network connection. You are going to need a Netwrok Iterface. Whether such devices exist for USB drives I do not know. I somehow doubt it.

Some routers to have a network interface built in that does allow you to connect a USB drive. That may be your only solution.

It seems it's the only way to go so I've stuck the 2TB disk on the cisco WAG320N and stuck the 1TB on a spare USB port
