Upgrading Wifi Card 4965AGN

December 24, 2018 at 13:24:24
Specs: Windows 10 Pro, 1800/3000
I have been trying to locate or at least get an answer as the initial Intel(R) wifi link 4965AGN just won't function correctly with Windows 10.
The last update was back in 2010 version 13 something.
I guess that this is an all around issue if you upgraded the operating system after windows 7.
Is there an upgraded card? I just can't get an answer from Intel and HP won't help.
I here that you can upgrade as long as it is in the Hewitt Packard white list

If the only problem after upgrading from Windows 7 to 10 is with the Wifi card then your solutions can be fairly simple. On a desktop you simply disable your onboard Wifi and purchase a PCIe (or PCI) Wifi card and install it with the appropriate driver. On a laptop you disable the onboard Wifi and purchase a USB plug in Wifi adapter and install its driver.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

Yes it is a possible answer in getting a USB card, it ill work just as well if not better.
The question or better said concern I that if I must go through an expense of getting an exterior card
Then I should also find out if there is an existing interior or better said onboard wifi card.
It is easy enough to remove, 2 screws and safely remove the 3 wires that are pressed on.

On desktops there are easy internal solutions because the interfaces are standardized. On laptops they are not so you will need to find out from HP for their laptop if they have a newer one that would be compatible. You also may find this our from an HP support group from other users who have tried things. On laptops the external is easier and probably cheaper since it is an off the shelf item.
