Specs: Windows 64
ok so i need a new budget router and it comes down to these 4. Im hearing this beamforming thing is overrated and i have only 1 device capable of AC band wifi, unless xbox one can handle it. I care about range but all routers with internal antennas seem to be crap. Help me decide which one is less crappy for my budget $$
1. LINKSYS EA6500-

2.NETGEAR R6300-

As far as I'm concerned, there is only one thing you absolutely want and that is dual radios. You want one that can run both the 2.4 GHz and the 5.0 GHz simultaneously. Some of the cheaper ones only allow one or the other to be running at the one time. You're going to want both as you likely have wireless equipment running on both presently.

Other than, one SOHO router is pretty much the same as any other. Stick to popular name brands and you won't go far wrong. Other than the above, I would base my decision on best price. The three brands I see mentioned above are all well known and decently reliable.

Personally, I wouldn't spend anywhere near $100 for a "budget" router. I got the following one for my kid for use in a 2 story apartment & it works great. Plus it was on sale for $20.
