Is your DNS address the same as your gateway (ie: local) or is it remote. If it's the address of a DNS server out on the internet somewhere then it's possible ping replies are shut off on the server itself.

Describe your setup for us. Is it something like:

internet >> SOHO router >> clients

The DNS is not same as Gateway. The problem is i am able to ping the Same DNS in a different PC in the same network. Only in this pc the DNS is not pinging. Request timed out is coming and also no site is opening. But Local network is working fine i.e i am able to access this pc from other pc and other pcs from this pc.

This is good information to know. To start troubleshooting this issue I would open a command prompt window on the PC that's not pinging the DNS, and also on one that is. I would then perform the following command:

ipconfig /all

and I would compare the two. Aside from the IP address itself, the other settings should be identical. Are they? If not, which differ?

All are same as the other pcs ip configutration. when I start the pc the reply for the DNS would come for 5 times then it will come request timed out. i tried changing the LAN Cable and also the port in the hub. but the same problem, i even repaired the OS once and also reinstalled the LAN driver. But the problem is not solved. There is no settings problem in the IP configuration.
