unable to detect a supported wireless adapter

Specs: Windows XP, 1GB
Cannot connect to internet. Windows XP Professional 2002, 1GB of Ram, older computer, HP. Wiped out computer due to virus reinstalled only software I have, but internet is not working

did you install the network drivers????????

check the device manager right click my computer and properties...hardware tab device manager anything with a yellow exclamation needs a driver installed. If you used an xp disk to re-install and not recovery partition.... you will usually need to reinstall the drivers. If you do not have the drivers disk from HP (or never did), you can find your make and model under HP website under support and drivers....you can download them from their after selecting model, operating system etc. I suspect your network driver is just not installed....and there could be others.
