unable to connect two routers

Specs: Windows 7
I have configured R1 router int fa0/0 with ip ( and connected this router with another router R2 with int fa0/0 with iip but I am not getting any link between R1 and R2

Why are you using public IP addresses?
Are you trying to setup a Time Warner Cable modem/router?

Sounds like you are using Cisco routers. Sounds like a purely theoretical test question for those studying Cisco routers.

Perhaps you could reassure us by explaining exactly what you are trying to achieve by connecting two routers in this way. What other networks do they connect to.
