unable to connect to any server

Specs: Windows7
i have an internet connection both wireless and lan but i cannot connect to any webpage. i have tried everything that i could find to resolve this issue both in the help and support on the laptop and online but to no avail. any help would be great

can you ping Yahoo.com? If not post the results. It sounds like a DNS issue.

the laptop is a new dell 1725 that was working fine on a verizon wireless network card. shut it off last night and havent been able to browse since turning it back on this morning

There's your problem. Unless you have a local DNS server this is not a valid DNS. It looks like your network adapter is not configured right. It needs to be set to automatic so that the ISPs DHCP provides the DNS information for you. You may have to call Verizon tech-support to help you configure it because it is using their software.
