June 8, 2010 at 01:26:04
Specs: Windows XP
Hi,
I can not able to access internet when firewall in enabled in my system. I get internet from broadband router. The reports of firewall show as when the system send a packet to internet through one port but getting reply to another port hence it is blocking the internet. What could be the exact reason for this. Where could be the problem in the system or router how to solve it. Please reply immediately.

Thanking you,

Regards,
Yathindra.

What are these port numbers. Knowing them would give a very good indication of what the problem is.

Not necessarily so. Some applications like FTP and Email can use a variety of ports to send and receive. Now you understand why knowing the ports numbers would be helpful.

because my firewall is blocking the internet based on port only. That's why i am asking about port related problems or where the problem might be.
