TUNNELING XBOX LIVE OVER VPN

There's been people who wanted to gain access to XBOX Live through a firewall that was blocking them from connecting to XBOX Live. There's been people also in countries where XBOX Live is not "officially" present and thus, they were not able to download some games or contents.

All resumes to the need of a -non authorized- XBOX Console to gain access to XBOX Live.

You will need two computers, one on the same restricted network as the XBOX Console, and one outside the restricted network (or country)
Your local computer (the one with the XBOX Live restriction) is named PC1
The remote computer (the one with XBOX Live unrestricted access) is named PC2

PC1 needs 2 Network Interface Cards (NICs)
PC2 needs 1 NIC

Configurations on PC1
Since you have 2 NICs you will have 2 network connections under "My Network Places".

Install Hamachi. Create a Network.

Now you should have 3 network connections:
NC1 connected to WAN (ie Cablemodem, DSL)
NC2 connected to XBOX Console
NC3 Hamachi Interface

Use the assistant to set up a small home or office network, share the connection from NC3 to NC2.
When you do this, ICS will change NC2 TCP/IP Configuration to have fixed IP Address 192.168.0.1
The XBOX Console should gain IP address thru DHCP Request: 192.168.0.x where x is value between 2 and 254
(Notice that if you ping the XBOX Console, it will not answer since it does not offer ICMP echo reply)
You will need to configure DNS Manually on the XBOX Console, configure the DNSs that PC2 has on NC1.
You will need to configure NC3 with the IP that was assigned by Hamachi, Mask 255.0.0.0, Default Gateway, the IP assigned by Hamachi to PC2's NC2.
If you want you can configure NC3 DNS to those on PC'2 NC1. We needed to do this so NC3 can route packets to PC2.

Configurations on PC2
Install Hamachi. Join the network that was created for PC1.
Ping PC1's NC3 IP address (Hamachi's), you should be able to ping just fine.

You should then have two network connections under "My Network Places"
NC1 connected to WAN (ie Cablemodem, DSL)
NC2 Hamachi Interface
Use the assistant to set up a small home or office network, share the Internet from NC1 to NC2.
When you do this, ICS will change NC2 TCP/IP Configuration to have fixed IP Address 192.168.0.1.
Notice that we dont want this, change NC2's IP Address to automatic, same thing for DNS.
If you do an ipconfig of NC2, it should show the IP that was assigned to you by Hamachi, with a netmask of 255.0.0.0

All set, you should be able to connect to XBOX Live.

PD: Please try this method and tell me if it works, in theory it should. Maybe with slight modification you can make it work, please post if any modification needed !

I ve been trying this for the past 3 hours and no luck. I dont
know if I am misunderstanding yours steps or what. Also On
another forum I read that you needed a cross over cable for
the connection from the xbox to the pc. Another question
would be if it matters that one of the connections is a wireless
on on PC 1
