TP Link Wireless N Gigabit Router not powered on

September 27, 2013 at 20:44:22
Specs: Windows 7
I have a TP Link Wireless N Gigabit Router TL-WR1043ND which has been working fine, until I packed it up for four weeks due to having to be away from home. When I went to reconnect everything I plugged the router into the power point and the lights are not coming on, I have no power. I have checked various power outlets but no lights are coming on the router. I have checked all over the router box to see if there is an on of switch but can't see one

You've checked the power outlets but what about the plug on the router cable, there's a fuse inside that too (Well there is in my country anyway).

I think you will find Phill that the fuzzed plug is a particularly British thing. Other than countries that have the same 230v/50Hz/13A system that GB has, I don't know of any other country that has fuzzed plugs.

As for the OPs question. Where was this router stored during its period of inactivity. If it was stored in a cold place like an unheated cellar ,it may have accumulated some condensation. Leaving it standing in a warm environment without power for a few hours is usually a good idea.

Is there a reset hole? If you've checked all connections (and fuse if applicable) then you router needs replacing.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

reset wouldn't make a difference without power. Most likely you need to replace the plug in adapter which converts it to 12volt
