The automatically disappearing SSID???

Specs: Windows 10
Hi, so I have a Dir-655 router, and the problem is, after I plug the power in, it will provide wifi internet for my devices, but after a few minutes, the SSID disappears, therefore I have no access to the internet at that point. And I have noticed that the wifi icon on the router and the fully connected light is on as well, just the SSID disappears. What might cause this problem?

Could be a faulty router.

I would tend to agree with Derek on this one. You should check that you have the most up-to-date firmware installed on your router. If you don't, install it and see if that doesn't fix the issue. If it doesn't, check for warranty and if you have it, RMA the unit. If you don't, replace it.

How charged with punishments the scroll,

I am the captain of my soul.

Try power cycling it. Pull the power cord for about 10 seconds, then plug it back in.

Power cycling often works and is sure worth a try. It's just that "after I plug the power in" made me feel that power cycling was implied.

"Possibly..." a reset might resolve the situation... That will erase all settings you msy have made/changed and put the router backbto as delivered.

Wifi will likely then be disabled, so you will have to enter setup area and re-enable it. Then see if the problem persists - or not.

The reset is usually via a wee hole on the back plate, where one inserts a paperclip and presses for whatever time. The user mnual will have full details on how to do it.
