My computer is Dell Inspiron530 w/32bit vista & 2.00gb. Is this ok for DSL?

DSL isn't very picky about CPU speed or operating systems. I ran it on a 386 with Win3.1 and Win95. You should be fine. Of course, first thing you should do (if you haven't already) is download some anti-virus/anti-malware protection.

It is also not a bad idea to use a router with it's hardware firewall rather than going directly from the DSL modem to the computer (another layer of protection).

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

If you feel the computer is slow now and was fast when new then it might be time for a complete reload of the OS. Be sure you know how to recover all important data and programs before you attempt this.

Good advice on using the home router to help firewall the system. Be sure to have a good security suite on it, at least microsoft's security essentials. Consider a good hosts file too.
