svchost doesn't "eat" data. It takes up memory of which 5mb is insignificant.

Unclear how you jumped to bandwidth usage. The two are not related.

look,i dunno wots wot.i had to pick a category for my question n it seemed best. as soon as i open intnet connctn data use multplies till i stop it,5mb in 30 secs is a lot, i opened resource moniter n svchost was rite at top using it all b4 my eyes.you are obviously an old hand at this,i am not.i may feel slightly ridiculed but i dont care cos all info is good info and ill take it all in. i thought i had controled my data use after i found windows update automaticly so i switch to manuel so i can go to wifi n not use my mobile BB. so any idea where this data is coming or going to? it said svchost on resource moniter, under "network",if it just wanted memory it could have it cos i got heaps spare. i know i sound dum n my letter writing is crap so dont add to it please, thanks 4 comment anyway, bye.
