Static printer IP

Specs: Windows XP
I am going to Kenya on a mission trip. I have to install five PCs and a printer that will be accessible to all. I have an ethernet switch that I will connect to the printer and each PC.

Can someone list for me the steps I must take to:
1- assign a static IP to the printer
2- make the printer accessible to each of the PCs

I have chosen this method so the printer will still be available if one or more PCs is down. I think that is correct.

If the printer is network capable there will be a display an the screen, after scrolling I assume, that will either give you or give you the ability to assign an static IP.

After that, just use the printer wizard to establish a connection to each pc.
You'll need the driver disk for the printer to install on each pc.

Who in their right mind would ever need more than 640K of RAM!?

You'll have to read the printer manual in order to find out how to configure the network settings.

Once it's correctly configured and physically attached to the network, all you have to do is know to add it to a computer is know it's IP and use the method I describe over in the "howto" section.
