Specifying which LAN IE uses

June 5, 2009 at 11:14:50
Specs: Windows Vista
I have 2 broadband lines each with their own individual router. I connect to 1 router by Wireless 192. and 1 by Ethernet 172.

Whilst one of the lines is fully utilised, I want to be able to set Internet Explorer to use the other one. Is there any way to set this up or software I can attach to one of the lan Connections that it can be inserted into the IE settings as a Proxy?

Might try the search feature here sometime. This question is a common one.

Problem is you can't have two gateways. Windows will only use one. What you are asking for needs two gateways.

Solution is to load a virtual machine [vmware/virtual pc - both free - google them] and in this virtual session point to the other connection.

So host machine points to 172 for gateway and virtual points to 192 for gateway.
