Specifig Website Won't Load

September 9, 2010 at 08:16:35
Specs: Windows 7, Q6600/4gb ram
For some reason I can't access tinypic.com on this computer. The page just keep trying to load with no sucess. I've tried on FF, IE and chrome and none works. Perharps, the website works perfectly fine on my laptop. I tried with all addons/firewall/antivirus off, flushing the dns, deleting browsers cache/cookies and reinstalling browsers with no success . I also pingned the website, nothing timed out and I get the right ip(209.17.70.143).

Please help! :(

Edit: I just tried in safemode with networking and it still won't load.

locate and review your hosts file for a tinypic.com entry. if found remove it and save the file.

review your spyware/malware software configuration for restricted sites

Hmm I get the same time out at the same location. As you can see I am on the west coast whereas you are on the east coast. But we both get there.

Does not appear there is a problem with your pc yet you write a laptop on the same network can get there fine.

I have 11 hops to get there but you have double that at 22. I suspect you maybe timing out. I have no idea how you could increase that time out time or if that would even correct the issue.

If you do a broadband speed test choosing a site in Denver how do the speeds compare between your pc and laptop?

There does seem to be a problem at
PHOTOBUCKET.car1.Denver1.Level3.net and the next hop.

Perhaps a call to your ISP could shed some light on the issue.

Thank you very much for the reply.

I went on speedtest.net and choose Denver. Here's the results I got:

Laptop:
D/L speed - 3.03mb/s
U/L speed - 0.24mb/s
Ping - 231ms

Desktop
D/L speed - 3.02mb/s
U/L speed - 0.25mb/s
Ping - 222ms

I also sent an email to my isp. Ill probably call them later today or tomorrow to see if anything is wrong.

Thanks again for helping me!

I don't think I have been of much help unfortunately.

Those stats look equal so it does not appear to be any difference between the laptop and pc.

No indication there is an issue with your laptop yet the pc gets there.

Under tcp/ip /advanced there is ip filtering. Anything in here?

I looked at the advanced settings of tcp/ipv4 and tcp/ipv6 and I don't see any ip filtering.
