I have a client with a small program that's ran in Access and the files are stored on another PC used as a file storage machine. Both have Win7 pro. When accessing the file from the storage machine its very slow to open the files. When I relocate the files onto the work station PC they open quickly like they should. I have tried setting the speed on the ethernet connection, its a new router, recently all PC's have been redone so I don't know what else to check to try and speed up the file transfer. The program is a little one designed for them and works fine when accessing the data from the same PC but when accessing from the storage machine things slow down.
The network detects other PC on network by name. will try transfering the file to anther machine and see what happens. Thought about that just hadn't gotten around to trying it. Thanks for the reminder.
