Solved Slow Access to drive on another computer

September 12, 2012 at 12:16:15
Specs: Windows 7, 4GB
I've got 3 computers. All running Windows 7 Home Premium. My desktop has an entire drive shared. I initially was having problems accessing the drive from both my HTPC and my laptop. I flushed the dns and reset winsock. reset IPv4 TCP/IP,and reset IPv6 TCP/IP.
This fixed the problem from the laptop to the desktop, but the HTPC is still having problems accessing the desktop. The desktop however has no problems accessing the HTPC.
Also have disabled auto tuning and the rdc.
Ideas?

Forgot to add: Laptop is wireless the other two are wired.

Changed the sata mode from ide to ahci, and all is well. Also disabled the large packet offload in the network adapter settings, and everything is now faster than ever.

review the desktop firewall rules. Make sure file and print sharing are enabled and the HTPC is allowed access.

Checked all that, and all appears to be set up correctly.

It's back to not working correctly with my laptop now. It's got to be something with the desktop itself that is the problem.
