hi

I am a newbie (one more!) to networking and I have a few questions. I would be grateful if someone could help me out.

Data sent from upper layers of the OSI Model are sent to the transport layer to be broken down into segments.
What determines the segement size and how can it be viewed and changed?
What is the best segment size?

The Network Layer breaks the segments into packets. Or is each segment equal to one packet?
What determines the packet size and how can it be viewed and changed?
What is the best packet size?

The DataLink Layer breaks the packets into Frames. Or is each packet equal to one frame ?
What determines the frame size and how can it be viewed and changed?
What is the best frame size?

Thanks a lot beforehand.

1. Read a good book about networking.

2. Google for the information.

3. Ask your teacher.
