Shutting down remote computers via script

Microsoft Windows server 2003
January 19, 2010 at 23:21:09
Specs: Microsoft Windows Server 2003 SP2, Intel Pentium D 3,2 GHz, 1 GB ram
I have a large computer park around my network.
Over 100 computers. And these are at a school,
where both students and teachers seems to forget to
turn them off.

My question is this. Can i send a script to the
computers at a specific time to turn them off.
WITHOUT writing the names down of all the
computers

Search google for:
gpo remote shutdown script

I'm sure you'll find what you want.

Tried google already. Browsed throug multiple sites. Didn't find
anything I could use. Group Policy wont work. All our
computers is frozen. That means to install GPO on just one is
30 min.
Try and calculate the time it will take on man to go through 100
computers.

what do you mean "frozen"? Do you mean you are using Deep Freeze?

If you aren't setup for remote administration via gpo or other then a bad choice was made and has to be corrected before you can do as you wish.

Though you should be able to run shutdown.exe without employing a gpo but you do need to input the host name in the command. Not sure if you can use ip address instead of name. The remote host has to be identified or the command assumes the local host.

Deep Freeze is software, we use a hardware device called
Safety Card.
I am only the daily admin, and isn't allowed to install much
on the networks.

But thanks for helping me out anyway though

Wanderer, thanks for explaining all that. Without gpo remote admin, there isn't much hope.
