Share wireless connection with wireless router

Specs: Windows Vista
I have my laptop running Vista (sorry) connected to a BTOpenzone for my internet connection. It is in the only room in the flat that gets the wireless signal, but i want to spread the internet to the rest of the flat using a spare Linksys router i have. I have set up the the router before to be a wireless repeater from a laptop connected to my modem, however now the internet connection is activated straight from my laptop once i have logged into BTOpenzone. Below is an ideal network map:

BTOpenzone(externally provided) ====> Laptop ====> Wireless Router =====> ipods/ps3/other wireless device

Does anyone know if this is possible?!

Many thanks in advance!!

You can't do that with BTOpenzone. To use a router for distributing a wireless internet connection around your house you need to have an internet account of your own which is fed through your telephone line and connected to the router.

If you can connect your laptop to BTOpen Zone, why not just connect the other devises to the same hotspot as well.

You can set up Internet connection Sharing on you laptop and plug your router into the laptop and use that for wi -fi for the other devices but you wont achieve much that you cannot do by connecting directly.

If the router you own is "bridge mode" capable
If your internet provider allows it
it may be possible to connect the router (in bridge mode) to your providers wireless network and then have it redistribute that signal around your home.
